Oticon Reveal Hearing Aids Now Available in Lufkin

Oticon Reveal, the newest rechargeable hearing aid from Oticon, is now available at Audiological Services in Lufkin. How BrainHearing Technology Works

Hearing happens in the brain. Your ears collect sound, and your brain sorts it out, deciding which voice to follow at a crowded table and which background sounds deserve your attention. Oticon designs its hearing aids around this natural process, an approach the company calls BrainHearing.

Picture Sunday lunch with the whole family gathered around the table. You want to follow your grandson’s story, and you’d also like to hear the clink of dishes, laughter drifting in from the kitchen, and someone calling your name from the next room. Those surrounding sounds help your brain understand where you are and what’s happening around you. Oticon’s research points to a natural balance point in the brain, where speech is clear and meaningful context remains available, and Oticon Reveal is designed to find that balance for each person who wears it.

What’s New in Oticon Reveal

Oticon Reveal runs on what Oticon calls a Dual AI system. One part, Speech AI, continuously identifies and clarifies the voices of the people around you. The other, Context AI, recognizes and balances the surrounding sounds that give those voices meaning. The two work together in real time throughout the day, whether you’re catching up with friends at a busy restaurant or cheering at a Friday night football game. Oticon’s 4D sensor technology also considers what you’re doing and where you are before the hearing aid decides how to process sound.

Reveal includes a new connectivity platform as well. It’s made for iPhone, optimized for Android, and supports Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcast audio, a technology that lets you tune in to audio in public venues that offer it. A feature called Streaming Comfort softens surrounding sounds while you’re on a call or listening to music, so the audio you chose stays front and center.

Rechargeable Power for a Full Day

Oticon Reveal is a rechargeable receiver-in-canal hearing aid designed to deliver all-day power. You place your hearing aids in the desktop charger at night, and they’re ready when you wake up. A portable travel charger is available too, which comes in handy for weekends at the lake or trips to visit family.

Many people appreciate skipping tiny batteries, especially those with arthritis or reduced fingertip sensitivity. For patients who have little or no usable hearing in one ear, Oticon is also introducing a new CROS transmitter alongside Reveal, and it works with the same chargers as the hearing aids.

A hearing aid’s performance depends heavily on how it’s selected, programmed, and followed up. Every Oticon fitting at our office begins with a comprehensive hearing evaluation. From there, we look at the details that shape your daily experience, including your hearing results, manual dexterity and vision, comfort and cosmetic preferences, skin sensitivities, the shape and health of your ears, and your budget.

Oticon Reveal pairs especially well with open or vented fittings, which many wearers find comfortable and natural. Its updated feedback-prevention system, the Reveal Optimizer, gives your audiologist more room to deliver the amplification your hearing loss calls for while keeping whistling under control. If you’d prefer the strongest possible reduction of background noise, we’ll talk through other options with you, since we work with all major hearing aid manufacturers.

Your brain also needs time to adjust to new sound. Our Quality of Service Guarantee includes a 30-day trial period, reprogramming, free clean and checks, and troubleshooting, so we can fine-tune your hearing aids as you settle in. Patients who would like to keep up with new technology can also explore our Hearing Aid Leasing Program, which allows an upgrade every three years.
